About  Quintspinner – A Pirate’s Quest:

It is 1717 and sixteen year old Tess chooses to sneak out of the house against her father’s wishes. In the London marketplace, she is assaulted before narrowly escaping to a stranger’s home.

Once inside, she witnesses a murder and becomes the recipient of a dying woman’s ancient Spinner ring, only to be accused of having stolen it.

Upon her return home, she bears her father’s wrath and in defying his accusations, discovers a shocking family secret.

Her world as she knows it, has been turned upside-down, its comfort and familiarity shredded beyond recognition in one miserable day.

Even so, Tess never imagines that she will soon find herself to be an unwilling passenger on board a merchant ship bound for the pirate-infested waters of the West Indies, forcibly betrothed to the murderer, and fighting to stay alive. With increasing dread, she realizes a growing attraction that she has for a handsome sailor puts both their lives at risk. Moreover, she quickly discovers that her ruthless fiance covets her only for her Spinner ring and its legendary prophetic power, and will stop at nothing to obtain it for himself.

The stakes for survival become unbearably high when she is thrust into the hands of a marauding band of hostile pirates bent on gathering tremendous treasures, and she must make an agonizing and life-threatening choice for herself.

A tale of pirates and treasure, love and betrayal, all bound together by a dash of ancient magic, Quintspinner has been described by readers as “a wonderfully entertaining, fast and furious ride; Lord of the Rings meets Pirates of the Caribbean”.

About the Author:

Mostly, Dianne Greenlay saves lives by day (she is a physiotherapist in a sole charge clinic and frequently hears, “You gotta help me with this pain – it’s just killin’ me!” – so she does, and they seem to live through it) and she tells lies (a fiction writer) by night.

Her debut novel, Quintspinner – A Pirate’s Quest is the first book in an intended trilogy, and came about as the result of a Google search gone wrong. She was searching some medical condition, and in the search results, up came “Women Pirates”.  Quintspinner has gone on to win multiple awards in Best YA, Best Commercial, and Best Historical categories.

Although she has no formal writing training, Dianne is fluent in at least her mother tongue and she thanks her fierce English teachers for that. More of her thoughts on life can be found at www.diannegreenlay.com.
